As a Sri Lankan Tamil photographer, capturing weddings isn't just about documenting moments; it's about preserving cultural heritage and celebrating the richness of our traditions. Recently, I had the honor of photographing a traditional Sri Lankan Tamil wedding, and I am thrilled to share the beauty and significance of this special day.

Golden hour in photography is that magical period shortly after sunrise and just before sunset when the sun is low in the sky, creating a warm, soft light that is incredibly flattering for portraits and landscapes alike. The light during this time is less harsh compared to midday, offering a gentle glow and long shadows that add depth and dimension to your photos. As a photographer, I cherish golden hour because it provides the perfect natural lighting. The warm hues enhance skin tones, making portraits look more appealing, and the diffused light reduces harsh contrasts, resulting in a balanced exposure. The elongated shadows and golden tones can turn an ordinary scene into something truly extraordinary, adding a touch of magic and warmth to the images. Whether capturing a serene landscape, a bustling street scene, or a candid moment, golden hour is the ideal time to shoot for that ethereal and professional quality in your photos.
